About Us

Another warm welcome to our mother-daughter business, Blessed Quivers!

I started this business with my mother's constant encouragement, wanting to do something that centered around my love for babies. She soon joined me and we are now working together with the same goal of caring for the mother, newborn, and whole family, in turn.

Temi (Teh-me)-BD, NCS

My name is Temi and aside from being a trained birth doula (BD) through DONA International and Newborn Care Specialist (NCS), I currently work in the NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit) as a nursing assistant. Here, I have the opportunity to learn and help care for the tiniest babies. This includes helping to care for multiples (twins and triplets).

I am also a former nursing student and have taken courses that discuss the developmental milestones of children. It was in nursing school that my passion for maternal-infant care deepened.

Aside from this, I also have over a decade's worth of experience babysitting/nannying for family friends. It has been a joy serving families and caring for babies, and it is safe to say that I have a love for these tiny lives.

As a Newborn Care Specialist, I want to continue deepening my understanding and knowledge of maternal-infant care with continued education. As a birth doula, I hope to support moms at a time when they are bringing life into the world. â€‹

Ade (Ah-day)-NCS

My Mom, Ade, is a Newborn Care Specialist (NCS) and is known affectionately by those in our Nigerian community as "Mama". She is a mother to two adult children, and a mother figure to others she has helped raise in the past.

Having seen her firstborn through 29 years of life, and her second through 27, she is seeing the fruits of her labor in her middle-age. Before she was a mother, as a teenager and young adult, she nannyed in the homes of various families, also working as a household manager as she took care of the family's overall needs.

Even after becoming a mother, she would help new mothers to care for their babies during the first few days, providing support in those first vulnerable moments for post-partum moms in her Nigerian community.

With these past experiences, and with the wisdom she has as not only a mother but Newborn Care Specialist, she would love to go into the homes of families once more, taking care of babies to help mothers, and the family in turn. As a former chef for over 20 years, she would also love to bring her passion for cooking into the homes of families to provide nutritious meals, and meal prep as needed.
